Our Promises and Commitments:

Our involvement in this project poses a religious responsibility before Allah (SWT), and an ethical responsibility towards our community. When we ask our community members for their donations, we are asking them to trust us in spending each dollar sincerely for the sake of Allah (SWT), we are asking them to trust us in using these donations to serve our community and deliver the promises included in our mission and vision statements. Therefore, the assumption of leadership for this project is a great challenge for any group, and great risk for any individual. Based on this understanding we opted for this project to be a community project, and therefore the leadership should be the choice of community members who elect to support and sponsor this project. We as interim leadership for this project pledge to our community the following promises and commitments inshaAllah:

  1. Keep our intention sincere for the sake of Allah (SWT)
  2. Promote the unity among our community members and organizations
  3. Keep our hands extended, and our hearts and minds open to all our brothers and sisters in all mosques and Islamic institutions to work with them hand-in-hand to please Allah (SWT), and to serve our community in general, and our youth in particular.
  4. Involve our community members in the planning and decision making process
  5. Abide to all terms and laws specified in the bylaws of the organization
  6. Develop programs to build the Islamic character in our youths
  7. Provide onsite and offsite community services
  8. Abide to all federal and civil laws and regulations
  9. Promote interfaith and intercultural relations
  10. Continue to take pauses throughout our work and efforts to purify our hearts and our intentions for the sake of Allah, and to be sincere for our community

    We ask Allah (SWT) to help us and guide us to accomplish these promisses and commitements.

Purpose and Mission:

The Muslim Youth and Family Center at Orland Park (MYFC-OP) is a non-political American Muslim community-based organization that cares for the character development of American Muslim youth in Orland Park and the surrounding area. Our mission is to build character and develop leadership qualities in American Muslim youth. MYFC-OP provides physical, educational, and spiritual programs and activities. It promotes positive interfaith and intercultural relationships in our society. Most importantly, it helps nurture youth to be good citizens who care for their health, behavior, social life, family, community, environment, faith and future.

The youth brothers and sisters are playing an important role in the development process of this project. Therefore, programs and activities are designed to suite the needs and expectations of our youth. While youth are the main focus of this project, but activities for all ages are also available.

Support the development of a youth and family center in Orland Park: Estimated construction cost and land is $1,500,000.00
